Expansion Plans

May 15, 2010

Without question we (FPCA) are at a juncture in our history where we have to decide if we are ready and willing to take the steps to accomplish what God put in our hearts and numerous pastors hearts for Arcadia many years ago.  God continues to direct us and draw us to a place of faith and sacrifice to prepare us to go where we wants us to go and do what both He and we want to do .  This will require an immediate coordinated plan as a church and as church families to work and give to expand our facilities.

I believe our immediate growth will begin in our Sunday School Department and spread.  We have developed and have had plans drawn up to accomplish our goal of expansion.  We have divided the plan in 3 phases.

Phase 1 will be the remodeling and expansion of our restrooms to accomodate double our present capacity.  Also part of phase one will be moving some of our portable buildings and increasing our electricity capacity and some plumbing issues.  Also a part of phase 1 will be moving my office.

Phase 2 will be be adding approximately 2000 sq. ft. to our Sunday School Department to include 3 new Sunday School classrooms, a food pantry, and a new multipurpose youth building.  Also during this phase we will add a covered entrance for cars to drive under and drop people off.

Phase 3 will include the expansion of our auditorium on each side by 10 ft to the east and 10 ft. to the west.  This will increase our capacity nearly 100 with a maximum seating capacity of 275.  Also the platform will be expanded.

When Nehemiah rebuilt the walls it was done by divine provision by God as the “people had a mind to work.”  There will opposition whenever anything is done for God but the benefits and obedience to God far outweigh the sacrifice.  God will provide and we will work as a church to work and watch  as we take steps towards Gods promises.

I pray God’s blessings on you as we work and give to see it come to pass.

In Christ,

Donnie Underwood, Pastor

Revival

March 13, 2009

We began Revival services in early February and it has turned into one of the most dynamic moves of God that I have experienced. From people coming earlyto pray and staying late to enjoy the lingering presence of the Holy Ghost. Numerous people have been healed of sicknesses and as of the time of this blog 26 people have received the Holy Ghost with the majority of those receiving the Holy Ghost for the first time. We had once lady visit on a Wednesday night and receive the Holy Ghost. She brought her son to be prayed for that night due to chronic upper respitatory infections and he was healed that night. She brought her sister and mother back the following weekend and both of them received the Holy Ghost.
During a ladies prayer meeting early in the revival Sis. Boyett was alone praying in the church when she looked up and noticed the front door was wide open with a bright light shining in. The following day she told me, Bro. Pierce, and Bro. Wheeler and the next day Bro. Wheeler prophesied that the “Door was open” to this city. Since then the majority of visitors to every service have received the Holy Ghost. The doors to our city have opened and this is evident by each service something wonderful happening. God impressed me to go to Little Rock, AR. during this revival to pray for someone sick with cancer and Bro. Pierce and Bro. Mahaney went also and we prayed for the man and God filled him with the Holy Ghost and filled his brother with the Holy Ghost also. The Lord has opened a door that no man can shut. For such a time as this God has called us to rise up and be the vessels that he has called us to be. God is calling us to step out from the ordinary and into the extraordinary. There is a supernatural, vibrant, Spirit-led life that God has equipped us the lead. We are no longer the church on the other side of the track but the God called church that is impacting our city with miracles, signs, and wonders. A few weeks ago Bro. Pierce preached a sermon about crossing over Jordan and the fact that we have been to this spot before. We have stood at this spot before but this time we have crossed over into a new place, a new dimension in the Spirit. God has elevated us as a church. We are the light in our city. It is time for church to be more that a Sunday and Wednesday gathering but a way of life that takes place in between when we gather as a body. Mircales and signs can take place in our homes. People can received the Holy Ghost in our homes. We have stepped out of the ordinary and into a true apostolic way.

Celebrating 55 years

September 17, 2008

FPC of Arcadia is celebrating 55 years of Jesus name, Holy Ghost, Apostolic, power.  The church was founded after revival services by T.W. Barnes.  Bro. Barnes, literally went from door to door and preached and prayed people through to the baptism of the Holy Ghost on their porches, door steps, and front yards. This church and the power thereof did not begin in a closet but openly and publicly as God moved through this city.  It is openly and publicly that we celebrate 55 years.  The same God who reigned 55 years ago at our founding is gloriously reigning in might and power today.  Hebrews declares that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  He is the Lord and he changes not.  Let’s declare it, live it, and believe it.  Rev.
